The topic i choose to add to the ideas was based on a poem of S. Abramsz called De moeder van een duizendpoot (The mother of a centipede). It goes about a child centipede that fell in a mud puddle. His mom became terribly dissatisfied, not because of him playing outside, but because she now had to wash all his socks!
For the event, that is held all over Zwolle, a map is needed to find all the special parts of the event. But because there are also many children going to the event with their parents, my focus is making a map for the children.
While making the map, both younger and older children had to be kept in mind. It has to be easy to follow for the smaller children, because they can follow the centipede. But for the older children, they can follow the centipede and the 'Seek and Find' part on the other side. With the 'Seek and Find' part, there will be questions asked and they have to find the answers to the blanks by the numbers on the maps.
For example, by part 1, it says ' You arrived at a statue. But look good to the flowers around it and what they say. This is the word of the first blank.' In the flowerbed will the children find the word 'Moeder' (mother). This will be the answer of the first blank.
The next answer to the next blank will be by part 2 and etcetera.
On the way, people will also find this little house. In this house they can find a poet. Someone who writes poems as their job.
When you climb up to the entrance, you can find the poet and can ask them if they can use their 'poetry power' to write a poem specially made for you.
After a while, you can pick up your poem. You have to climb up again to the entrance and here you will find little socks on a washing line with names on them and poems in the socks. Find your name and you find your specially made poem for you in it.
